At the heart of the Kawa Training Center lies a remarkable initiative that’s transforming lives and safeguarding Zanzibar’s natural beauty. We’re proud to introduce our vocational training center, where we offer education in Tourism, Hospitality and Entrepreneurial skills to the youth of Zanzibar. But that’s just the beginning of our story.
A Focus on Inclusivity and Sustainability
Many of our students face financial barriers that would otherwise deny them the opportunity to pursue an education. To bridge this gap, our students actively contribute to their own learning journey. They play a crucial role in cleaning the beaches of Stone Town, diligently separating waste and recycling what’s possible. Beyond that, they’re taking steps to repurpose waste materials into valuable products.
Youth Empowerment and Environmental Conservation
Our mission is on one hand, to nurture the skills and talents of Zanzibar’s youth, especially focusing on youth, women and rural areas. On the other hand, we’re passionately cleaning and preserving the environment.
Join Us for a Transformative Experience
We invite you to join us in our daily beach clean-up efforts. As you work alongside our dedicated students, you’ll witness the incredible vistas of the beach and sea. Feel the gentle early morning sun on your skin and take a refreshing swim if you desire. Later we will hit the road through the iconic sights of Stone Town.
We will bring you to the artistic Hifadhi building. Here, you’ll be welcomed in our place of creative upcycling where you will witness the entire journey of waste, from the ocean’s embrace to its transformation into new, purposeful creations, each with its unique story.
Café Bue: A Culinary Delight
At Café Bue, the heartbeat of Kawa, you can savor a cup of coffee and delightful snacks prepared by our talented hospitality students. Cafe Blue is a learn/work space supported by Kawa Training Center in rder to support the students and aims to generate an income to support Kawa Training Center’s education program.
Meet and Greet our Students and Teachers
Visit Kawa Training Center to interact with our students, practice your English, and engage in inspiring conversations. Our students love welcoming guests and sharing dreams and ideas. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our dedicated teachers, who will share more about our project and its successes ( and challenges).
Local Partnerships and Global Collaboration
We collaborate closely with local accommodations and hospitality establishments to provide our students with real-world experience and a stepping stone towards future success. Moreover, we welcome volunteers from around the world, each contributing their unique expertise to further our mission and broaden our understanding of the world.

Duration by bike and time slots: It is a 3 hour tour, two tours per day:
from 09.00 am – till 12:00 am or from 4 pm – till 7 pm, Mon – Fri.
Pick up point: Bluebikes Link.
Pick up from your hotel, located in Stone Town is also possible, please provide the address in your booking message. Transfers to and from Stone Town are available upon request.
We will drop you off at the same location you were picked up.
*Price includes: entrances, bike and helmet, tour guide, water refiller at Bluebikes shop is available when you bring your bottles.
